In April 2020, 21% of Calgarians said they were struggling to easily buy food and groceries for themselves and their families.
To help discover solutions for the issue of food security, especially in light of the pandemic, The Social Impact Lab hosted a Disrupt-ATHON—a citizen-led competition where teams come together to develop solutions for social issues facing our communities.
We sat down with Scott Langill and Patrick Cloutier of Solfood, who won the Disrupt-ATHON, to learn more about the issue, and the actions we can all take to help.
